Darren Sim is a seasoned technology and product leader with over 19 years of experience driving digital transformation, platform modernization, and engineering excellence across Asia-Pacific, North America, and New Zealand. With a proven track record of delivering scalable, next-generation solutions, he seamlessly integrates strategic business priorities with innovative technology approaches to create measurable outcomes.

In his current role as Regional Director of Digital and Connected Commerce for one of the world’s largest healthcare companies, Darren oversees digital engineering initiatives across Asia-Pacific markets, including China, Japan, Korea, ANZ, and Southeast Asia. He leads the regional definition, design, and execution of strategies that integrate commercialization, supply chain, compliance, and go-to-market approaches.

Under his leadership, teams have successfully modernized flagship digital platforms, reduced operational costs, and accelerated time-to-market for key solutions. He has spearheaded initiatives in Generative AI (Gen AI) adoption, helping establish enterprise-safe frameworks and unlocking capabilities that enable next-generation personalized healthcare solutions. His work has resulted in significant cost savings, enhanced system performance, and strengthened organisational capabilities.

Having held roles across both the public and private sectors (local companies and multi-nationals), Darren has successfully led cross-functional teams in complex, matrix-based multinational environments to implement transformative technology strategies, streamline operations, and foster cultures of continuous improvement. His contributions include advancing DevOps adoption, modernizing digital platforms, and building high-performing engineering teams that consistently deliver business value.

Recognized as a thought leader in digital transformation, platform modernization, and emerging technologies such as Generative AI, he brings expertise in change management, lean and agile methodologies, system thinking, product management, and engineering excellence. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Singapore Management University (SMU) and is currently pursuing a Global MBA at the University of Manchester. He has completed advanced programs in Disruptive Strategy at Harvard Business School and Generative AI at MIT. Additionally, he is certified in TOGAF 9.2, SAFe, and as a Scrum Master and Product Owner, reflecting his commitment to continuous professional development.

Since returning from New Zealand in 2020, he has been based in Singapore with his family. Living in the heart of Asia gives him the opportunity to explore the region’s rich cultures and landscapes. He is passionate about traveling, photography, cooking, and hiking, enjoying the chance to immerse himself in new experiences and capture them through his lens.
